you said how strange it is
that i am there. how beautiful and strange.

i am writing this down so i do not forget
the air is still smudged in magic so and i
can push my sleepy fingers through it

i hope denise levertov does not mind
i scribbled over my notes for her
in eleventh grade i had written
nevertheless, her desire of uncovering the poem is fulfilled
by the miracle
it meets my last stanza like a long, lost lover.
